Drugs, booze, and compromising positions. If he wasn’t an adult, you might just call child services. Singer and comedian Matthew Holloway has at last escaped the chains, both literal and metaphorical, of MOTHER—a drug lord of international proportions who offered her single offspring some rather dubious life lessons during his formative years. Forget Tiger mom, or Octo-mom or even the ancient Madea; MOTHER lives in uncharted maternal territory. Clutching sanity by a single sequin-covered thread, Holloway takes to The Duplex cabaret stage to share the stories and lessons of his childhood with MOTHER punctuated by eclectic songs from the likes of Leonard Cohen, Randy Newman, Laura Nyro, David Bowie, and more. Have at least two drinks! Or have eleven. Change your life or change your state of consciousness. Get ready to be schooled because MOTHER ALWAYS SAID!
"This tragic clown reveals a very human pain and warmth that manage to co-exist with the madness that never leaves his eyes."
